Whose Patient is it Anyway?
Please join us for an evening of interactive fun and interprofessional learning on Wednesday, November 30 from 5:00-6:30 PM.
PIPES is hosting the first-ever interprofessional simulation based on a skit from the popular television show Whose Line is it Anyway. The skit “Freeze Tag” starts with a scenario. At different points throughout the scenario, the scene is frozen and different team members rotate into the scenario. As different team members rotate in, new information is introduced and the scenario evolves.
On Wednesday, November 30, the simulated scenario will be a 21 year-old female who had an ankle injury and subsequent lower extremity deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolus. She initially delayed care until she had a syncopal episode resulting in a fall and wrist fracture. You will see her on day 3 of her hospital stay. The objective is to refine her treatment plan and solidify her discharge disposition. BUT, it will take an interprofessional team to make it happen!! Different representatives of each profession will be swapped-out at different points in the scenario.
You can either come to watch or to participate!! We will need several volunteers from each profession. You will be provided detailed case information in advance to allow you to prepare. You also will have the option to “phone a friend” if you get stuck at any point in the scenario. The goal is for this to be fun and interactive.
As always, THERE WILL BE FOOD!!!
