In his current position, Dr. Kamimura-Jimenez is responsible for developing and implementing programs to support the academic and professional success, and enhance the quality of student life, of the highly diverse population of Masters and Ph.D. students at the University of Michigan. Dr. Kamimura-Jimenezs outreach and partnership building expertise in a variety of educational and community based organizations throughout the country opened the door for him to be the first Director for Educational Partnerships at Cal State Fullerton and the first position of its kind developed in the California State University System. In this role he garnered nearly $16M in federal and private grants as a principal investigator to collaborate with school districts, community colleges, and 4-year institutions to strengthen the P-20 educational pipeline. Dr. Kamimura-Jimenez is also the co-editor and author of the Latina/o Pathway to the PhD: Abriendo Caminos (2006), contributor to Relationship Patterns for Latina/o Cross Gender Mentoring: Cultivando Cultura and Creating Academic Pathways (2013) and Retaining Latinos at 4-year Institutions (2004). He received his BA in Social Science from the University of California, Irvine; MA from Columbia University in Organization and Leadership; and PhD from the University of Michigan in Higher Education and Public Policy.
