Translating Academic Success into Expanded Career Opportunities:
You have worked many years to learn the "tricks of the trade" of your discipline and the academy. How will those skills and your education help you negotiate jobs in government, in industry, in non-profit organizations or in administrative positions in a university? What translates well and what will you have to adapt to new settings? During this interactive workshop, participants will assess their own professional skills, practice interviewing skills for non-academic positions, and develop plans for applying networking strategies for future professional development opportunities. Presenter: Henry (Rique) Campa, III, Ph.D., Associate Dean, The Graduate School and Professor of Wildlife Ecology, Michigan State University.
This workshop is free for current graduate students. Register online at www.gvsu.edu/paces/register
