Ruth moved from Puerto Rico as a small child and grew up in Grand
Rapids, MI. She has a Masters Degree in Education, Administration,
Planning and Social Policy from Harvard University and a Certificate
on Professional Publishing from Stanford University. She was a Publisher
& Executive Director of Children’s Book Press San Francisco, CA. Ruth
is a Pura Belpré Award Selection Committee Member.
