Weill and Brecht transformed old fashioned opera with the fresh sounds of jazz and cabaret style music inspiring the musicals Cabaret and Chicago. &nbsp;Set in Victorian England, Macheath (Mack the Knife), a notorious felon and womanizer, runs his own gang of thieves, marries the daughter of the King of Beggars, is arrested, convicted, and scheduled for execution. &nbsp;At the last minute he's saved by the Queen and given the title of Baron! &nbsp;This political satire will feature a live jazz orchestra and GVSU students bound for Broadway and beyond!\r\n
