	Featured Speaker:  Connie Navarro, founder of Latinos Working for the Future\r\n

	Navarro and her husband founded Latinos Working for the Future, an information clearinghouse for Hispanic culture and education. She is also one of the founders and on-air hosts for a number of Hispanic radio shows spanning 20 years in the Muskegon market. Amongst her other active civic leadership and community organizing, Navarro is the original project coordinator of the book, &ldquo;A New Home in Michigan: the Mexican-American Experience in Muskegon&rdquo;, which includes interviews with 38 Mexican-American families residing in Ryerson Heights and other parts of the community.  The project started in 2007 and the book was released in early January 2011.\r\n

	Navarro and some interviewees highlighted in the book will discuss the history of the project, talk about their migration stories and re-settlement in the Muskegon area, and emphasize the importance of preserving the history of local Mexicans.\r\n
