What Will I Learn? 

You will learn strategies on how to write strong essays that will engage a selection committee’s attention and make you stand out from the crowd! 

Why Is It Important? 

The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship (www.iie.org/gilman) requires you to write a statement of purpose and a follow-on service project proposal. They are designed to give the selection committee a sense of who you are and how closely your goals and strengths match the ideals of a specific award, so they are a crucial part of your application. 

What Should I Bring? 

A draft of your essays if you have one. Writing consultants will be available to help you generate and develop ideas for your essays during this hands-on
