Workshop presented by M.J. Thiel, Counseling & Career Development Center - Grand Rapids

This session will introduce participants to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community and provide the information and resources needed to be an ally. Topics include terminology, the use of inclusive language, tools for sensitive interactions with members of the LGBT community, and a student panel. No prior training or knowledge is necessary and all those interested in being an ally are welcome to attend. Those who complete this training will receive the Allies & Advocates flyer for posting in their office as well as inclusion in the campus-wide network for allies.
