James is a survivor of child slavery who worked as a child fisherman in more than 20 villages along Lake Volta from the age of 6 to 13, before finally escaping. James will be telling his incredible story of escaping slave and becoming a modern day abolitionist. James in internationally-recognized leader against slavery. He is the recipient of the Free the Slaves Frederick Douglass Award, the Young Innovator for Social Justice Award, and has made appearances at TEDx and on CNN.
