Engaging and Retaining the New Volunteer
Research shows most nonprofit organizations are not prepared to engage and are having difficulty in retaining newer generations of adults looking for volunteer service and skill-building opportunities.
This session explores the paradigm shift in work styles from the traditional volunteer to the new volunteer whether Boomer, Gen X or Millennial --important differences within these groups, and how volunteers from each of the generational cohorts can help nonprofit organizations strengthen their infrastructure, increase capacity, and achieve mission.
Through the use of action learning activities participants will learn how to use new tools and develop compelling opportunities and new strategies to increase the engagement, more fully utilize the skills, and retain the services of these volunteers.
Individuals who attend the Encore "Coming of Age" Learning Lab have the opportunity to attend this workshop for free.
