Join your West Michigan colleagues for a showing of the film “Gerrymandering" and participate in an interactive discussion on the redistricting process.'
The way political district lines are drawn, a process that takes place just once every
10 years, can keep our communities together or split them apart—changing
whether we have representatives who feel responsible for our concerns.
For the first time, “Gerrymandering” exposes the most effective form of manipulating
elections short of outright fraud.
The evening will conclude with an opportunity for discussion that will expand your
knowledge about the Michigan redistricting process and potential problems with
how legislative district boundaries are chosen and will provide an opportunity for
you to give input on potential approaches to reforming the current process.
Thursday, May 19, 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
