Sally Harwood began her carillon studies in 1996 with Margo Halsted at the Beaumont Tower Carillon at Michigan State University, and she studied with Ray McLellan after his 1997 appointment as Michigan State University Carillonneur. She became a Carillonneur member of The Guild of Carillonneurs in North America in 2000. During the 2010-2011 academic year she attended the Royal Carillon School 'Jef Denyn' in Mechelen, Belgium, studying with Eddy Marien and Erik Vandevoort, and was awarded the end carillonneur diploma "with distinction."

Sally served for 22 years as in-house legal counsel for MSU, with an office a few minutes' walk from Beaumont Tower. Sally occasionally performed formal recitals while still pursuing her legal career, but now, as a reitree, she plays the carillon more than ever and her performance work has expanded.

Open to the public. Free admission. This concert will take place rain or shine. For more information, please call (616) 331-3484 or visit
