Community Research Summit

Date and Time:

Friday, March 14, 2014
8:30 AM - 1:00 PM

Location:

  • DeVos Center » 122E - Loosemore Auditorium

Description:

In the fall of 2013, the Johnson Center’s Community Research Institute launched the VoiceGR Community Survey, which surveyed residents living in and around Grand Rapids, on their basic needs, health care, education, transportation, and more. This year’s Johnson Center’s Community Research Summit will give nonprofit and community leaders an exclusive look at results from the survey, which captured the voices of over 3,000 greater Grand Rapids residents.

The Johnson Center has designed the Summit to give participants an overview of the results of VoiceGR and a chance to have conversations about using the data in their work. Participants will hear the story of the data and its effects on the work organizations do in our community. Sharing stories surrounding the people and social conditions of West Michigan enables organizations to be more effective in their work, broadening their scope of impact.

Participants will have the opportunity to explore data driven decision-making and using community data in their work.

The Johnson Center encourages organizations to attend with more than one staff member so they can discuss how to best use these data practices at their organizations and what the community data needs are for future iterations of VoiceGR.

*Registration is required to ensure breakfast and lunch is available for all participants.
