Christmas in A Box---Christmas Service Project
Date and TimeThursday, December 1, 2011
- Kirkhof Lobby
The Omicron Alpha Chapter of Sigma Lambda Gamma invites you to be a part of our Christmas service project.
We are currently collecting shoe boxes and plastic containers filled with toiletries and gifts for men, women and children to be donated to the Mel Trotter Ministries. There are approximately 200 people who utilize this shelter every day and we are looking to bring a bit of holiday cheer to them by distributing "Christmas in a Box".
We are hoping to reach our goal of 200 shoe boxes and plastic containers by early December. All of the boxes with gifts will be passed out in December during Christmas time.
1. Get a SHOE BOX or a small plastic container
Use an empty standard size shoe box or a small plastic container. When wrapping, please wrap the box and lid separately.
2. Decide GENDER AND AGE
Determine whether your gift will be for an adult Male/ Female or a Boy or Girl. If it is a child please add age category: 2-4, 5-9, or 10-14, or 14-17. Print and fill out the label that is included under pictures on the FB event. Mark the correct age category on the label, and tape the label to the top of your box.
3. FILL WITH GIFTS
Fill the box with a variety of gifts according to age and gender you have chosen.
4. DROP OFF
Please place a rubber band around each shoe box and lid and drop off at the Sigma Lambda Gamma collection table. Collection table dates at the Kirkhof lobby are as follows: Wednesday, November 16th and Monday, November 21st from 11am to 3pm. If you are unable to drop off your shoe-box on either of those dates, please contact Sigma Lambda Gamma-OA at email@example.com and we will work out a date and place where you can drop your gift. :)
