Traumatic Brain Injury and Recovery

Specializing in molecular neurotrauma research, with an emphasis on the function and regulation of neuron-specific genes after traumatic brain injury, Dr. Strauss’ lab studies COX2 and arachidonic acid metabolites called “eicosanoids” in neuroinflammation and neural cell death following trauma; his lab is also developing treatments to boost the benefits and suppress the pathological effects caused by COX2 and eicosanoids in the brain after injury.
