James Fackenthal is assistant carillonneur at the University of Chicago where also works as a cancer researcher. In 1986 he became a carillonneur member of The Guild of Carillonneurs in North America and has since played numerous recitals throughout North America. Fackenthal holds a Ph.D. in molecular biology. He is a former member of the GCNA Board of Directors, has served as a juror on the examinations committee and is the former co-editor of the GCNA publication "Carillon News."
