Typical Music is a new chamber music syndicate created by New York musicians Todd Reynolds, Ashley Bathgate and Vicky Chow. The group formed around the eponymous Piano Trio of composer/clarinetist Evan Ziporyn and a commitment to cultivating brand new music and performance styles while integrating older 20th century works in electrifying performances. All three are a vital part of the Bang on a Can Collective: Bathgate and Chow are the cellist and pianist of the Band on a Can All0Stars; Reynolds is a participant from the earliest days. Together these artists bring a fresh and atypically fierce approach to the storied ensemble of the Piano Trio.
