Description:

Grand Valley Alternative Breaks is hosting a service project, in honor National Service Day, September 11th.

On this day they will be working with the Friends of Grand Rapids Parks. This is an open event to anyone or organization with a drive to participate in service learning and community service at Grand Valley. Please meet the morning of September 11th at 8 am Kirkhof Room 2204 (Pere Marquette) for a brief orientation and to car pool for transportation to the park. Participants will volunteer mainly at Garfield Park and focus on painting to general clean up. With that in mind, as ask that all participants please come prepared in clothes that can get a little dirty and closed toe shoes. After the project, participants will shuttle back to Grand Valley around noon.

Plan on this event taking about five hours in total, 8am-1pm.
