The Greater Grand Rapids Bicycle Coalition (GGRBC), West Michigan organizations and businesses are coming together May 14-18thto support employees and their families in taking an active approach to their daily commute. The inaugural Active Commute Week, offered in conjunction with the nationally recognized “Bike to Work Week” highlights a number of ways in which West Michigan residents can improve their health and wellbeing, save some money and live a little greener.
Active Commute Today LIVE! Takes place May 18th 4:30-7:30 p.m. at The Rapid Central station platform. Experience live bands and good food while getting your bike tuned up by Alger Cycle. Awards will be presented to the winning organization and individual of the week’s Active Commute Week Challenge at 6pm. No bike? No problem, active commuting celebrates walking and riding the bus as well. Vendors supporting all types of active transportation will be present with interactive booths and information. Attendees are welcome to continue the celebration across the street at Founder’s Brewing Company later in the evening. Check out the list of bands and vendors scheduled for the event online.
