Patrick Macoska graduated in 1975 from the University of Detroit with a Master of Architecture degree. Concurrently he studied music at Marygrove College. He is a registered architect in the State of Michigan and a senior associate with the firm of Neumann/Smith Architecture in Southfield, Michigan. Macoska is also director of music and carillonneur at St. Mary's of Redford Catholic Church in Detroit.
Macoska began carillon studies at the University of Michigan with professor Margo Halsted and became a carillonneur member of The Guild of Carillonneurs in North America in 1997. He has given recitals in the U.S. and several foreign countires and has served as a consultant on several carillon projects. Macoska is the author of "Carillon Tower Design and Construction," a resource available through the GCNA. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the GCNA and is the chairperson of the Tower Construction and Renovation Committee.
