James Fackenthal is the assistant carilloneur at the University of Chicago where he also works as a cancer researcher. Since becoming a carillonneur member of The Guild of Carillonneurs in North America (GCNA), he has performed numerous concerts throughout North America. He holds a Ph.D. in molecular biology. Fackenthal is a former member of the GCNA Board of Directors, has served as a juro on the GCNA Examinations committee and is the former co-editor of the GCNA publication "Carillon News."
