We are excited to announce the newest member of the TRiO Talent Search team, Eutimio (Tim) Marroquin, as Advisor! He joins us in early January.

Mr. Marroquin comes to our program with 15 years of experience in the public school system from the Holland area. He worded as a Career Readiness Coordinator and Dean of Students at Wavecrest Career Academy, and also worked in positions at West Ottawa High School and Holland High School.

He has a strong interest in sports and in coaching youth as well as assisting students academically to reach their potential. His other hobbies include reading and urban travel.

He is a Grand Valley State University Alumni and received his Master's degree in Sports Administration from Central Michigan University this December 2012.

His wife is also a Grand Valley State University Alumni, and they have two children.

He will be working in high schools within the GRPS district.

TRiO Talent Search is proud to announce that the ECMC is sponsoring a "Realizing the College Dream" workshop/conference, January 28, held in the L.V. Eberhard Center.  The conference hosted by TRIO Talent Search and Grand Valley State University College of Education,  highlights national speakers and a curriculum designed to help first-generation students gain access to higher education.  Over 130 educators from across the state and locally will gather to learn how to implement college access plans and curriculum in their high schools.  The workshop is free and registrations are accepted until Monday, January, 21.  Registration is free and includes materials and lunch.
