ESSU Info Meeting and Elections - 01/25/2017
January 25, 2017
This meeting began at 6:07 p.m. in the Seidman Forum. During this meeting, we held elections for new E-board positions. The newly members will job shadow the current E-board members this upcoming winter semester and will take over all of the duties in the fall semester 2017. We had six open positions including President Elect, Vice President Elect, Financial Officer Elect, Marketing Officer Elect, Information Officer Elect, and Programming Officer Elect. Also, there is the student ambassador position which can consist of multiple officers.
This meeting was also another organization introduction meeting on ESSU to new members as well as a preview to the schedule of great events we have planned for this semester. Professor Knoll gave an update on the following events:

SAP
Young Thinkers event: This is a fun volunteer event where
members can be a mentor to groups of high school students as they
play the ERPsim game. No experience in game is needed as training is
provided before. This will be held at Seidman.

- 2/24/2017 sponsored by Steelcase
- We have 2 ERP Program Speaker Series coming up. This event is open
to all students! There is a private networking event for paid ESSU
members after the presentation
- ASUG (America’s SAP User Group) on 1/30/2017. We just became
the first affiliated chapter
- ESSU students can join the ASUG Michigan Chapter for free under GVSU as the organization. GVSU hosts an ASUG event in the summer every year. Link for instructions on how to join here!
- Spectrum Health on 2/22/2017
- ASUG (America’s SAP User Group) on 1/30/2017. We just became
the first affiliated chapter
- Adulting Like A Boss: For Your Future: Part 1 and 2
- Networking Literacy: For Your Future
- Ohio company tour of Owens Corning, Cardinal Health, Accenture.
- March 30th-April 1st (more details to come later)
- Only have one van planned with maximum of 12 students. Preference given to job-seeking students. RSVP required here.
- Cargill IT Action Day on 2/17/2017
- Contact ERP Program faculty if interested in possibly obtaining some funding to go
- SAP HANA Challenge/Innovation Jam

Following the elections. Current E-board members were able to have brief conversations with the newly elected members to give introductions and start planning out the transition of responsibilities for the semester. We would like to thank everybody who ran for a position and it was fantastic to see such an enthusiasm from everybody in joining the E-Board! The meeting ended at 7:33 p.m.
