October 19, 2016

This meeting started at 6:09 p.m. and took place in the Seidman Forum. ESSU is very excited that PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) has expressed an interest in recruiting our students. Jeff Briner and Eric Koch came to give a presentation about the Technology consulting side at PwC for the company information session.

Eric is a GVSU alum and ERP Program alum who has been working at PwC for around 5 years doing consulting for SAP. Jeff Briner is a long-time Partner at PwC and specializes in the SAP Utilities industry.  PwC is a network of firms in 157 countries with more than 20,000 people worldwide.  PwC generates about $35 billion in revenue. Jeff talked about PwC at a glance and the recent successful history of their Technology and Management Consulting. Jeff pointed out that in the last several years, PwC has grown a lot on the Technology consulting side and they are now comparable to their competitors in the market place. PwC is only growing bigger in the Technology Consulting area because they are globalizing quickly. Some of their big firms now are located in the U.S, Mexico, China, South Korea, and Japan. PwC is a company that grows internally with acquisitions. Jeff also explained how strategy, technology, operations, and risk/assurance are all interconnected. Eric talked in depth about life as a consultant. He then noted that there are Global Delivery Model Resources available. The internship, as Eric described, is a 10-week internship program at the client-site. Eric noted that the internship program is a great way to make connections and learn from colleagues. Eric and Jeff then finished the presentation by naming some of the biggest perks and benefits offered at PwC like student load paydown program, milestone awards, annual bonuses, sport bonuses, tuition reimbursement, and many fun social gatherings. A Q&A and one-on-one networking followed Jeff and Eric’s presentation.

The meeting ended at 7:30 p.m. This was a very successful information meeting for all our members to learn about the career opportunities at PwC. Technology related jobs and internships at PwC for Grand Valley students will be posted at https://campusjobs.pwc.com/.
