Three Seidman College of Business students attended the Deloitte and SAP Co-innovation Event; August 5-7 at Deloitte University in Westlake, Texas.

“The SAP Co-Innovation Event helps foster the next generation of consulting leaders by offering them an opportunity to expand their skillsets, discover what it takes to deliver value with SAP solutions today, and network with Deloitte and SAP professionals.”

This is the second time Grand Valley students attended the event. The students, who are part of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) program at Grand Valley, included Jacob Barclay, Drew White and Sydney Ecker. The ERP program at Grand Valley is one of the world’s leading programs where students gain an understanding of integrated, cross-functional business process experience, using SAP® software.

“At the event, we got the opportunity to compete and learn more about the consulting process and an SAP implementation.” said Jacob Barclay.  “I truly enjoyed representing GVSU, learning more about consulting and SAP, and building a professional network with other students, Deloitte consultants, and SAP representatives.”

"The event provided a condensed time line to push our critical thinking skills to the limit to provide an SAP based solution to our client.” said Drew White.  “When we were not working on the case study time was given time to network, explore the Deloitte University campus, and attend various workshops about Deloitte, SAP, and the life of a consultant.”

The co-innovation event hosted students who qualified by having a 3.4 grade point average or above, extensive exposure to SAP core modules, functional knowledge of many different functional areas of a business, basic configuration skills in SAP and strong analytical skills in applying KPIs to manage business performance.  Students participated in case study mentoring, networking opportunities and presentations from Deloitte leaders.
