ESSU Meeting Minutes & Active Memberships
Company Information Session Featuring Accenture - ESSU 9/28/2016

This meeting started at 6:04 p.m. and took place in the Seidman Forum. We were fortunate to have representatives from Accenture come and give a presentation. We were joined by Murali Chandrasekaran who is a Delivery Senior Manager at Accenture and Kerri Allen who is a Manager from the Accenture Federal Services. Kerri also brought some of her team members from Accenture Federal Services who also happen to be Grand Valley alumni: Zac Bigelow, Kyle Shilito, Alex Stutzky, and Joseph Zarantonello.
The presentation started with Murali explaining who Accenture is and what they do. Accenture is one of the most known professional services companies and they are the largest independent technology services provider. Accenture has a client base of about 94 Fortune 500 companies. Murali highlighted the 5 areas that Accenture offers consulting services for: Accenture Strategy, Accenture Consulting, Accenture Digital, Accenture Technology, and Accenture Operations. They are actively seeking entry-level workers in Management Consulting, Technology Consulting, Digital, and Operations practices. Next Kerri, Zac, Kyle, Alex, and Joseph talked about the 6 core values and what it means to them. The 6 core values are stewardship, best people, client value creation, one global network, respect for the individual, and integrity. While Murali was explaining the various career levels, he mentioned there are opportunities to work your way up to different positions or even shift over to a different type of consulting area if you ever express a desire to try something new. Zac, Kyle, Alex, and Joseph each answered questions from students on topics like the culture at Accenture, experiences working for Federal Services, and advice on working with new projects. The meeting ended at 7:00 p.m.
