ESSU Meeting Minutes & Active Memberships

Company Information Session Featuring Cargill - ESSU - 10/06/2016

This meeting started at 6:03 p.m. and took place in the Seidman Center of Business Room 1013. We were fortunate to have representatives from Cargill come and give a presentation. We were joined by Mitchell Grewer and Leiah Hess. Both of these guest are GVSU alumnus that now work at Cargill.

The presentation started with an explanation of who Cargill is and what they do as a company. Cargill works in many industries including Agriculture, Food, Financial, and Industrial. There mission is to nourish the world. They are a very large company that employees 153,000 employees in 67 countries. They are seeking interns for this summer. This program is 12 weeks long. Mitchell and Leiah talked about why we should be interested in working for Cargill. The highlights of this being there dedication to personal and career development. They also mentioned the many opportunities and level of importance Cargill places on volunteering. Mitchell and Leiah each answered questions from students on topics like the culture at Cargill, what its like to live in Minnesota, and what their day to day activities on the job can look like. The meeting ended at 7:30.
