Company Information Session Featuring FCA - ESSU - 10/05/2016

This meeting stated at 6:24 p.m. and took place in the Seidman Forum. The company information session was FCA, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. The three presenters were Michael Angerbrandt, Jill Glenn, and Julie Stahl. Jill Glenn is a manager from the SAP COE at FCA. Michael is a SAP Release Manager who graduated from the Grand Valley ERP Program only a few years ago. And Julie is from the IT Architecture and Infrastructure side at FCA.
They started the presentation off with a cool FCA video showcasing a behind the scenes look at the variety types of people that contribute and add value at FCA from IT to marketing to even the automotive assembly workers. Jill then elaborated off of the video by saying that FCA is very diverse and it is an exciting time to be working for the company due to the recent merger. Chrysler merged with the Italian-company Fiat in 2014. Jill said that FCA is in over 150 markets and they have over 200,000 employees. Jill, Michael, and Julie then talked about the different car brands and revealed their personal favorites. Because FCA is investing in its manufacturing plants and people, there are many opportunities available. Jill named some of the IT functional areas like SAP, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Finance, Architecture and Infrastructure, Manufacturing, and Legal, Audit, Risk and Compliance. They then talked about the various full-time and internship positions. The internships are cross-functional and consist of 1-2 projects. Jill then talked about a dozen key traits that they look for in an individual like being passionate, optimistic, delivering results, accountability, and team driven. Michael discussed about the ICT Academy for new hires which is a new way for new hires to gain exposure, network, and have mentors.
The presentation ended at 7:24 p.m. This was a very successful and informative meeting for all our members to inquire about opportunities available and learn the importance of SAP and the business process at a global company.
