Company Information Session Featuring Amway - 11/30/2016

This meeting started at 6:15 p.m. and took place in the Seidman Forum.  Amway came today to to give an overview of their company as well as talk about their ATLAS project. We  were fortunate to have Sally Gerber, Steve Noffke, and Bill Ruga come represent Amway’s IT department. Sally Gerber is an IT Manager of ERP Development. Steve Noffke is an IT Manager of the ATLAS Design to Deliver Applications. Bill Ruga is the ATLAS Global Business Delivery Manager. Amway is interested in explaining to students what Amway does and they are interested in recruiting our students.

Bill Ruga started the presentation by going over Amway at a glance. Amway has over 19,000 employees and operate over 100 countries and territories. They have earned $9.5 billion in sales in 2015. Bill explained Amway’s history starting at its founding and explained how the company has evolved. It is the entrepreneurial spirit and drive of Amway Business Owners (ABOs) that makes Amway unique Bill said. Amway’s success is based on the ABO success so that is why is it important for Amway to support their ABOs and help them define their own success. Amway has product groups in Nutrition, Beauty, Bath & Body, and Home. Amway has a Nutrilite Power of 5 Campaign which raises awareness and funds so children in the world can get the essential daily vitamins and nutrients which fights childhood malnutrition. Steve introduced students to the ATLAS project which is standardizing, automating and integrating disparate backend business processes and related technologies in Finance, Supply Chain and Sales at Amway. Before ATLAS, Amway’s business was supported by localized processes and aging technology. With ATLAS, Amway is introducing a global platform of processes and technology which will be more consistent and technology that’s modern. Steve talked about the ATLAS journey with the global deployment timeline as well as the countries that ATLAS is being deployed in. ATLAS is deploying another ERP called Oracle eBusiness Suite and Steve talked about the benefits of Oracle EBS and ERP in general. Sally finished the presentation off by talking about her role in the Amway Internal Business Solutions department as well as the AmwayNEXT initiative. After the presentation there was time for networking as usual. The meeting ended at 7:15 p.m.
