Dr. Garrett came to GVSU in 1991 after 12 years in industry. He spent over 10 years in R & D, design and manufacturing engineering at General Motors, Allied-Signal and Litton Industries. His recent consulting and research has been in designing products that are easier to manufacture. He received his B.S.M.E. & M.S.M.E. from Purdue University and his Ph.D. from the University of Cincinnati. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in Michigan.
