EGR 226 Introduction to Digital Systems
Wallace Competition, Winter 2005
Students were required to design a software application that had the tuning capability to compensate for imbalances in the Wallace Robot motors. Prior to the competition, each group had 5 minutes to use their program to tune up their robot. The actual competition involved two parts: technical and free-style. The technical aspect consisted of two maneuvers. The first was a 3-foot, straight-line maneuver. The second was a figure 8 maneuver. Points were awarded based on the accuracy of the maneuver. The free-style aspect consisted of navigating through a maze. Each group had 2 minutes to navigate their robot through the maze. Points were awarded based on the number of rooms entered and exited successfully.
