The information contained in this document is intended to provide employees at Grand Valley State University Allendale Campus with a better understanding of measures that can be taken to encourage a safe campus environment. This manual includes basic guidelines to follow when faced with various emergencies.

This document may be used at the Robert C. Pew Grand Rapids Campus and other satellite campuses as a guide. Please confirm your emergency and non-emergency law enforcement or security phone numbers for your specific campus.

The Grand Valley State University Police Department maintains service 24-hours a day, 7 days a week, and 364 days a year to assist with non-emergency dispatch. The department relies on 24-hour emergency service from the Ottawa County Central Dispatch Authority. Officers with the department are fully licensed police officers through the Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES). The police department is located in the service building on the north side of the Allendale campus.
