The Early Alert and Student Success Program is designed to assist students who are experiencing academic as well as other difficulties during their time at Components of the Early Alert and Student Success Program Graduation Persistence Assistance Graduation Persistence Assistance focuses on helping students who have a grade point average that has fallen below a 2.0 to improve their grade point average and demonstrate progress towards graduation. The Graduation Persistence Assistance program provides one-on-one advising, assesses individual student needs and connects the student to academic resources targeted to improve academic performance and move the student to a grade point average of 2.0 and higher. Secondary Admit Grade Point Average Assistance Secondary Admit Grade Point Average focuses on helping students who have declared a major that requires a specific grade point average to be considered for secondary admission to the major/program. Students who may need Secondary Admit Grade Point Average assistance are typically in good academic standing within the University based on their class standing, but have not yet attained the required secondary admit grade point average to be considered for acceptance into the major. Secondary Admit Grade Point Average program provides one-on-one advising and connects the students to academic resources. Early Alert Support Services Early Alert Support Services focus on helping students address personal problems that could negatively impact academic performance and/or progress towards graduation. Students in need of Early Alert Support Services program help are identified by faculty or staff members through the Early Alert On-Line Referral System. Faculty in contact with students within classes or staff in contact with students outside the class are encouraged to make a referral. The Early Alert Support Services are aimed at working with student issues beyond academics, helping students address their issues and move on to successfully complete their educational plans. |
