Audition Information
Students wishing to major or minor in Dance at Grand Valley State University should complete an online application for the Dance Program, where you will choose your audition date.

Students are encouraged to audition early, as spaces and scholarships are limited.
Audition Process
Auditions are required for all students wanting to pursue a Major in Dance (Bachelor of Arts), a Minor in Dance, or for those who want to participate in a dance class. The schedules for the audition days are as follows:
9:00 -10:25 AM - Ballet Technique

Women - Black leotard, pink tights, and soft ballet shoes. Men - Black tights, white fitted dance shirt, and ballet shoes. |
10:30 - 11:50 AM - Observe rehearsal
12:00 - 1:00 PM - LUNCH BREAK
1:00 - 2:25 PM - Modern/Jazz technique

Women: Dark, solid-colored unitard or leotard and fitted dance pants/tights and bare feet. Men: Dark, solid-colored unitard or fitted shirt and fitted dance pants/tights and bare feet. |
2:30 - 4:00 PM - 1-2 minute Solo
Please prepare a 1-2 minute solo of any style to be performed for faculty. (No costumes are necessary)
