Comprehensive Science & Arts for Teaching
Graduates who complete this major and the Special Education major are prepared to teach in the elementary and middle-school classroom as well as serve as special education teachers in endorsement areas such as Cognitive Impairment, Emotional Impairment, Early Childhood, and Learning Disabilities. Our students are employed as special education teachers across the state and the nation. The strong pedagogical skills that students develop also translate well to other settings outside of the school system where an understanding of effective teaching and learning is important.
A downloadable worksheet is available that summarizes requirements for the major and helps in planning for it. Also see the sample schedule of classes for the B.A. and B.S. with certification, and a list of FAQ’s about the major.
