B. Lorraine Alston, Ph. D.
CSAL FACULTY
Dr. Alston was the first full-time faculty hired for the CSAL program. She came to us in 1998 from Bowling Green State University, where she received her doctorate in Higher Education Administration. During her time at Bowling Green, Dr. Alston served as an adjunct instructor, research assistant, and academic advisor. She completed a doctoral internship in the Office of Multicultural Affairs at the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo. Prior to that, she was Associate Director in the Health Professions Preparation Program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and served as Dean of Administrative Services at Mary Holmes College, West Point, MS. She was a Program Analyst Manager at Fayetteville State University, North Carolina and the Coordinator of Planning and Research at Hampton University, VA, where she received both her bachelor's and master's degrees. Dr. Alston currently serves as Associate Professor in the College of Education. Dr. Alston teaches the adult learner, the American college student, Student affairs functions, social foundations of education, and also serves as a Masters thesis/project advisor and practicum faculty supervisor.
