Community Outreach Week

Individual and Family Project Ideas

Thank you for your interest in volunteering during Community Outreach Week - March 26-31, 2012. With your support, we are truly demonstrating the University’s mission of “Educating students to shape their lives, their professions, and their societies.” Just imagine the collective impact that over 107,600 current and former GVSU students can make!

If you are unable to participate in a scheduled event during this week, we encourage you to get involved in your own way and wherever you live! Here are some ideas to get you started:

  • Read to children at a local school
  • Volunteer at a nursing home/assisted living center
  • Donate Blood to the Red Cross
  • Donate Blood to Michigan Blood
  • Sponsor or join the GVSU Alumni Association's Relay for Life team and help fight cancer.
  • Plant a tree in the name of Grand Valley State University
  • Donate time at your favorite local charity. Visit the Resources Page to search for volunteer opportunities by location, key word, organization title, and/or in some cases even by a specific date.

Be sure to Tell Us About Your Project by April 16, 2012, and get registered to win one of many great prizes!
