This page is to help family, students, faculty, staff, and friends learn about ways to deal with mental health crises and how to access services during a time of need.

A function of the Counseling and Career Development Center (C&CDC) is to provide crisis intervention for the students of Grand Valley State University. This service is provided in some capacity 24 hours a day 7 days a week. During our normal office hours we have designated drop-in times Monday - Friday from 10 am to 12 noon and from 3 pm to 4 pm. After the office closes, we do provide on-call service to the residential campus community through the professional housing staff and through the Office of Public Safety (616-331-3255).

When a crisis occurs that affects the campus community, our counselors will facilitate crisis-response meetings and consult with students, families, faculty and staff. These services are available free of charge and are confidential.
