Career Library:  BRIDGES
BRIDGES (CX) is an online career exploration and information system. Individuals can read daily newspaper articles on career fields, employment trends, and educational options. Articles help individuals to become more insightful about themselves and career fields that they have not thought about in the past. Results can be used to establish a foundation for career exploration and planning via the Internet.

CX allows individuals to surf through more than 850 occupational files including new and unusual career fields. Self-assessment inventories allow individuals to evaluate their strengths and identify challenges as a basis for goal attainment and development. Interest and skills can be explored and used for changing college majors into career plans. The Career Aptitude Survey is useful in assessing verbal comprehension, numerical reasoning, visual speed and accuracy, space visualization, and numerical ability. Questions about career suitability are answerable. Survey results are in turn matched with related occupations. This career strategy allows individuals to make informed decisions about the future.

Personal and career information can be stored and used to develop career portfolios. Career problems can be solved to help bridge the gap between education/learning and employment. Hyperlinks to key Web sites enrich career planning and exploration.
