University Policies

The Anchor lists Grand Valley State University rules and regulations and outlines the Student Conduct Process.  Any person who enters upon university owned, leased, or controlled property or engages in university sponsored activity or program places themselves under the rules and regulations published in the Anchor.

The principles of truth and honesty are recognized as fundamental to a community of teachers and scholars. The University expects that both faculty and students will honor these principles, and in so doing protect the validity of University grades. This means that all academic work will be done by the student to whom it is assigned without unauthorized aid of any kind. Instructors, for their part, will exercise care in the planning and supervision of academic work, so that honest effort will be positively encouraged.

The Office of Housing and Residence Life helps students become productive and contributing citizens by fostering respect for self, others, and community. Housing staff are here to support student personal and professional growth and make every effort to help residents feel at home; however, students and their guests are expected to abide by the outlined policies and procedures.

Registered Student Organizations are expected to maintain high academic and behavioral standards within the Grand Valley community. It is incumbent upon student groups to conduct themselves within the framework of reasonable rules and regulations designed to prevent interference with or obstruction of the orderly operation of the university. Conduct contrary to these standards of behavior may result in campus disciplinary action.
