Attention future educators! Student Council for Exceptional Children is an on-campus organization devoted to bringing important and useful information to you. Our bi-weekly meetings are for everyone going into education, or for those who just love children. There is diversity in all classrooms, so whether you are elementary, special education, or high school, this is the place for you. Thank you all for your participation this past year. We have greatly appreciated being able to grow in our knowledge of working with students with disabilities with you. We look forward to seeing you in the fall. Our next meeting is Monday, TBA, Fall 2013 from 7-8pm Location: TBA Speaker and Topic: TBA Don't forget to create your OrgSync profile. It is a great new system Grand Valley is creating and it should be much easier to use than Stuey.
Also, we have some great resources on our page. Everyone knows that you need to have volunteer hours for your application to the College of Education. Click on the "Volunteer" tabs to the left to see a variety of different opportunities that are updated every two weeks. Plus, we have websites that are helpful to teachers, also on the left tab.
Kids Who Are Different Here's to the kids who are different, The kids who don't always get A's, The kids who have ears twice the size of their peers, And noses that go on for days. Here's to the kids who are different, The kids they call crazy or dumb, The kids who don't fit, with the guts and the grit, Who dance to a different drum. Here's to the kids who are different, The kids with the mischievous streak, For when they have grown, as history's shown, It's their difference that makes them unique.
