Kenowa Hills Co-Teaching Spotlight
March 28, 2017
This year, Kenowa Hills Public Schools and GVSU's College of Education are in their 2nd year of collaborating in a co-teaching partnership. The partnership was featured in an MLive news article, highlighting the benefits of the co-teaching model.
Nine College of Education student teachers are able to work with mentor teachers in K-3rd grade classrooms. Rather than serve in their placement during a single semester, the student teachers work in the school for the full elementary school year.
"School leaders say increased test scores demonstrates one of the values of the co-teaching model. The program will expand to 12 teachers next school year."
