Literacy and Technology Department

The Literacy and Technology Department provides courses and programs in reading/language arts, teaching English to speakers of other languages, and technology/information literacy. The unit has adopted a broad view of literacy that includes competence, knowledge, and skill with language in order to think critically and function successfully in society. Courses from Literacy and Technology are woven into the COE’s undergraduate and graduate programs, providing students with fundamental knowledge to effectively utilize reading and technology skills in the classroom.

At the graduate level, Literacy and Technology also provides multiple master's programs, which are offered in face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats. There is also a graduate certificate program in Online/Blended Instruction.
