COMPASS Acronym Meaning
Many students have the potential and the desire to teach. COMPASS will serve as a guide for students who have the desire to teach, but may not know the steps that are necessary to become a teacher.
When it has been established that the participants have the desire to teach, the COE will provide students in COMPASS with benefits including, but not limited to: service learning practica supervised by the Director of the COMPASS Program [ED 180], skill development, mentoring, and academic advising.

When possibilities are created, and opportunities are maximized, the participants will have a better chance to succeed. Exemplary teachers and educated students produce sustainable communities.
