Open Route Setting
For those who have been certified by the Climbing Center or have acquired similar training at another facility. Open Route Setting is our way of allowing non-staff climbers make their mark on the wall by setting their own boulder problems/ routes.
Note: this is not an extension of our open hours. Visitors that come to climb will be asked to leave.
Intro to Route Setting (registration required)
This is an introductory class to the creative art of route setting. Under the instruction and mentorship of an experienced route setter, the following topics will be covered: equipment use, hold selection, & route formation/ setting with a purpose.
Because routes are our primary product it is very important that they remain the highest quality. Those wishing to learn to route set must display a solid understanding of basic climbing equipment, movement, and technique. Our standard for measurement is the requirement of all setters to climb at either the 5.10a or V3 level (as set in our gym).
Registration available online beginning August 27 at
