Classics Alumnus Receives Rome Prize Fellowship

Grand Valley State University alumnus Andrew R. Lund is a recipient of the 2022–23 Rome Prize Fellowship in Ancient Studies from the American Academy in Rome (AAR). The American Academy in Rome has supported work and research in the arts and humanities since 1894. The Rome Prize Fellowship is highly competitive, and winners are selected annually by an independent jury of artists and scholars.

Andrew is currently a PhD candidate in the Department of Classics at University of Cincinnati. Beginning in September 2022, he will receive a stipend, workspace, and room and board at the Academy’s campus on the Gianicolo (Janiculum Hill) in Rome. During the fellowship, Andrew will work on his dissertation, which is titled Seneca Comicus: Comic Enrichment and the Reception of the seruus callidus in Senecan Tragedy.

Congratulations, Andrew!
