Description

The Department of Classics and The Mary Idema Pew Library Learning and Information Commons welcome Prof. Ruth Scodel to deliver the HOMERATHON keynote address: “Reading Other Minds in the Odyssey.”

Scodel is D.R. Shackleton-Bailey Collegiate Professor of Greek and Latin at the University of Michigan. Her research focuses on Greek literature, especially Homer and Greek tragedy. Among many publications, she is author of Epic Facework: Self-presentation and Social Interaction in Homer (2008).

The keynote address kicks off HOMERATHON FIVE: A Nonstop Performance of Homer's Odyssey.
