Michigan Test for Teacher Certification (MTTC)
The MTTC is required of all students who plan to earn teacher certification in the state of Michigan to ensure each certified teacher has the necessary professional readiness and content knowledge to serve in Michigan schools. Official Results must be sent directly to GVSU (test code 12). See below for more details on the exams, including information on when to take each test, registration and preparation materials. Test Schedule & Registration Information
For 2015-2016 you must choose a testing center and date from the options available through the MTTC website. If you will need accommodations taking this test because of a documented disability, please review the requirements needed with your Disability Support Resources advisor, www.gvsu.edu/dsr.

GVSU Candidates for Michigan teacher certification must pass the PRE prior to being admitted to the COE for teacher assisting. The PRE consists of three subjects: Mathematics, Reading, and Writing. Content area tests must be passed in both the major and minor endorsement areas in order to earn Michigan teacher certification.
