Below is a list of resources for students who are interested in applying to dental school. This is not an exhaustive list of resources and it is recommended you meet with the Center frequently to discuss your overall progress.

| Fact Sheet | The dental school fact sheet gives a basic outline of the requirements for dental school, including the national statistics for those admitted. |
| Dental Colleges | This link, provided by the ADA, lists the contact information for U.S. and Canadian dental schools. |
| DAT Information | Become familar with this page early in your career, and come back often. |
| ADA | The American Dental Association maintains helpful information about the profession. |
| AADSAS | The Associated American Dental Schools Application Service is how students apply to U.S. dental schools, excluding Texas, which uses TMDSAS. |
| ASDA | Link to the American Student Dental Association. |
| Pre-Dental Listserv | Students are highly encouraged to signup for the listserv as soon as they make the decision to go predental. The listserv is the fastest way for us to get in contact with you about application information, speakers who are visiting campus, or dental school visits. |
| Shadowing Lists | This list is not an exhaustive list of potential places to shadow. It is highly recommend that you contact dentists early in your career to see about shadowing them and/or regularly volunteering in a clinical setting. |
| Volunteer Information | The GVSU Community Service Learning Center organizes one-day and on-going service and volunteer events for GVSU students. Stop by their office at 1110B Kirkhof Center or visit their website for more information. Look under Community Partner Program & Events for one-day and on-going opportunities. |
| GVSU PreDental Club | We encourage you to actively participate in the GVSU PreDental Club. |
| Application Process Sheet | An overview of the application process. This form serves only as a guideline to the application process, it is up to you as the applicant to make sure you are meeting any deadlines or requirements outlined by the application and testing services, as well as individual school requirements. Application Checklist for once you've started the process. |
| File and Application Waiver | The File Waiver form is used to open up your application file in the CLAS Academic Advising Center. The Application Waiver gives us permission to anonymously use portions of your application as examples to future students. You may print the document to the left and bring it in to the Center, or click here for a Microsoft Word version of the document. With this option you will be able fill out the document electronically and email it to the pre-professional advisor. |
| Student Information Sheet | As we prepare to write your Advisor's Cover Letter, this informational sheet provides additional information for us to more completely represent you to the dental school admissions committee. You may print the document to the left and bring it in to the Center, or you can fill out the document electronically and load it to veCollect (see instructions under veCollect). |
| Letter of Recommendation Form | It is strongly recommended that you provide a copy of this form to those individuals who will be submitting a letter of recommendation for you. Please remember to fill out the top portion of the form before you give it to your letter writers. |
| veCollect Instructions | veCollect is a virtual "filing cabinet" used to store your letters of recommendation, a copy of your application, and your student information sheet. Go to https://collect.virtualevals.net to create your account (see instructions liked to the left). Make sure to upload a copy of your Dental Student Information Sheet and completed AADSAS Application to veCollect. |
| Writing Personal Statements | Information to get you started on your personal statement. It is also recommended that you visit the Writing Center (120 LOH) for additional help with the personal statement. |
