1.    OOTB Workshops for Fall 2010

Faculty Council will once again be offering the Out of the Box workshops. Please encourage your faculty to attend.  As announced at the Faculty and Staff meeting, the subject of the workshops is Academic Integrity.

2.      Philanthropy and the Presidency Conference (attachment) invitation from George Grant

This conference is based on research supported by the Mawby Fellowships in Philanthropy.  Gleaves Whitney and three students from the Hauenstein Center for Presidential Studies are the initial Fellows at this conference, which is scheduled on the evening of September 16 and during the day on the September 17.  Several top flight national speakers have been invited.

All of the speeches and discussion panels are free and will take place in Grand Valley State University's Loosemore Auditorium.  Faculty, students, or classes as a whole are welcome to attend one or more of these presentations for a great educational experience.

3. Pew Awards – message from Christine Rener (FTL C)

New forms for pew awards and the outstanding teacher award are posted on the FTLC website. http://www.gvsu.edu/ftlc/index.cfm?id=D8D1C30B-CA66-7BA9-BBC10E307B4C9552

We are very pleased that the new process will eliminate the need for so many duplicate copies. A formal announcement will go out next Friday.
